Nanny's Dinner Rolls
I can hardly remember a Sunday dinner with Nanny and Grandpa that we didn't have Nanny's Dinner Rolls. This is another recipe that I wrote down one day while Nanny lovingly measured out each ingredient, (something she was not accustomed to doing) but she was very patient as I wrote down everything she said. This is also a recipe that I made while in Germany, it truely was fun to go back and make many things from scratch that we had on a regular basis when I was growing up.
Ingredients
- 2 Cups flour
- 3 Tablespoons sugar
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 package yeast
- 1 Cup warm water
- 3 Tablespoons Crisco oil
Directions
- Sift dry ingredients into water and oil.
- Stir and put into a bowl to rise double in size, about 1 hour.
- Kneed on floured paper, then shope into rolls and put on a greased pan.
- Let rise double in size again.
- Bake at 350F for about 15 minutes.
- This recipe makes 1 dozen dinner rolls.
