Tortillas de Harina

1973 Deming,NM · Melinda’s cookbook — from Mrs. Taylor

When I was in Mrs. Taylors Home-ec class, in the 7th grade, she had an hispanic friend come to our class and teach us how to make flour tortillas from scratch! Wow, this was truely one of my favorite days in school. The lady worked with each one of us to make sure we were getting the hang of it... it does take practice. I continued to make these for years to come and I still make them today... just not quite as often.
